This festival Sunday was entirely devoted to the subject of the body. Together with the Italian artist Valentina Medda, we invited our subscribers for a Sunday walk in the old town of Bern. Valentina’s project UNTITLED#, with which she would have been our guest, usually begins with the exploration of an urban space. Valentina would have traveled to Bern to find cracks and crevices in building facades. Later she would have preserved these urban traces as tattoos on bodies. These would have become part of a living archive. An archive that exists on bodies of different people and ages forever. Valentina has renamed her project UNTITLED# for the current situation to «UNTITLED#Bern | In Absence». Her installation was in a local tattoo studio in the old town, where you could see Valentina’s art and listen to a conversation at an audiostation.

In the evening, our subscribers were able to sit in an almost real theater performance. The Geneva video artist Simon Senn was one of the first to direct his production Be Arielle F. into a Zoom version shortly after the start of the lockdown. Simon Senn has purchased a digital copy of a woman’s body and rights of use on the Internet. With the help of virtual reality glasses, he climbed into Arielle F.‘s body that evening and this transformation was both astounding and scary. And it turns out that Be Arielle F. works just as well on Zoom as it does on stage.
